The Initial Consultation
The first step of the entire Invisalign treatment process is the consultation. At this appointment, you’ll sit down with one of our exceptional Plano orthodontists to discuss your dental history and smile goals. From there, we will take detailed impressions of your teeth, learn more about the complexity of your case, and determine if you’re a good candidate for clear aligner treatment!
Creating Your Custom Treatment Plan
If you are a good fit for Invisalign, then we will move on to the next step: creating your custom treatment plan! At this point, we will determine important information, including how many aligners you’ll need and if rubber bands or any other orthodontic accessories are needed. We will also provide you with an estimate of your treatment timeline, discuss the price, and answer any questions you have.
Getting Your First Aligners
Once your Invisalign aligners arrive, you’ll return to our office. In addition to showing you how to remove your trays and put them back on properly, we will show you how to take care of them to prevent them from breaking or getting stained. We’ll also go over the details of your treatment plan, including when you should switch to your next set of trays, and schedule your next appointment!
Staying On-Track with Your Treatment Plan
Although Invisalign doesn’t have any dietary restrictions or complicated oral hygiene regimens, there are still a few guidelines you need to follow to stay on-track with your treatment plan. That starts with a commitment to cleaning your teeth (and your trays!) after each meal. Additionally, you should always switch to your next set of aligners on the right days and prioritize your check-in visits at our office.
Your Final Appointment
After you’ve worked through your entire series of aligners and achieved the straight, beautiful smile you’ve always wanted, it’s time to create your custom retainer. This will help prevent your teeth from drifting out of position, leaving you with misaligned teeth once more. Typically, we encourage patients to wear theirs each night to preserve their gorgeous results.
