Personal
Dr. Cindy Woodson was raised in Odessa, Texas. She and her three siblings grew up surrounded by the west Texas oil business. Her father was an engineer with Phillips petroleum and former Army Air Corps pilot. Cindy worked for Phillips petroleum as an oil field roustabout during some of her teenage summers. She graduated from Permian High School in 1974 ranking 15th out of a class of 713 students. Dr. Woodson also worked as a volunteer at the local hospital and decided early on that she wanted a career in medicine. Her own very positive experience with orthodontic treatment as a teenager led her to want to be an orthodontist who is currently serving Dallas, Carrollton and Plano, Texas.
After completing her B.S. in Zoology at Texas Tech University in 1978, she was accepted as one of only 16 women in a class of 140 at Baylor Dental School in Dallas, Texas. She graduated from Baylor in 1981 and was accepted in the prestigious orthodontic program at Emory Dental School in Atlanta, Georgia. She graduated from Emory in 1983. Dr. Woodson associated with a large orthodontic practice in Bedford, Texas for one year after graduation from Emory. She started her practice in north Dallas in the fall of 1984
Dr. Woodson has been married to Robin Pratt, a retired Navy captain and airline pilot with Delta Air Lines, since May of 1993. They have two children, Joanna (born 1995) and Robert (born 1996). Dr. Woodson has been a private pilot since 1983 and has been qualified as an aerobatics competition judge. The entire family loves to fly and travel. She also enjoys snow skiing, scuba diving, camping and reading to her children.
